Astrology

Astrology is an ancient practice that looks for the connection between events on Earth and the movements of planets and stars in the sky. It is older than science, and offers us an alternative way of viewing ourselves as part of this beautiful universe. It is based on a spiritual belief that we are deeply connected, and that there is a consciousness in the sky and earth. It is the study of who we truly are.

Astrology offers us a new language, a fresh way of understanding ourselves. It offers us a non-judgemental and non-dogmatic viewpoint, helping us to develop compassion and empathy for ourselves. We develop a new way to think about ourselves, we recognise ourselves as being deeply connected to this beautiful universe which we happen to be part of at this moment in time, and this sense of connection can help us to develop resilience and endurance in the face of all of life’s challenges. 

Astrology is a very old tradition and has been practised (and still is practised) by many cultures from the Babylonians and Greeks, Egyptians and Persians, to the Indians (Vedic astrology), Romans and within the Islamic tradition. It is important to note that although traditional astrology is fairly predictive, I take a more ‘evolutionary’ and psychological approach to astrology. This means that I do not tell you ‘this means this’ or ‘this will happen then’ but rather I interpret the language of symbols to offer you a sense of your ‘cosmic make-up’.

Think of a reading as putting puzzle pieces together like a jigsaw. I will offer you a basic breakdown of the symbolism contained within your chart, and then layer this symbolism together. We have, as you can see from the image of your chart, many planets, located in different zodiac signs, in different houses. These planets then relate to each other in different ways. If you imagine that the planets are the characters, the zodiac signs are the personality of the characters, the house is the area of life the character is showing up in, and the aspect (the colourful lines linking the planets) are the relationships between the characters, we can see then that astrology is like a play, set on the stage of your life, with characters, narrative, settings and relationships. This is why not everyone with a sun in Aries, for example, exhibits the same traits - it depends which house the Sun is in, the strength of the Aries energy, and the relationship the Sun has with other planets. Just knowing what your Sun sign is only reveals a tiny part of who you are. 

An astrology reading requires the knowledge of the date, place and time of your birth. I use this information to create a “symbolic photograph” of where all the planets were at the exact moment your soul transcended to Earth. I then interpret this information to give you a fresh and unique perspective on who you are, and how to navigate the twists and turns of this life’s journey.
