Restorative Yoga

Join me on the first Sunday of every month for deep rest, relaxation and quiet.

Restorative Yoga is a slow & accessible form of Yoga. In Restorative Yoga we come into gentle poses where your body is fully supported so that you can truly relax and calm your mind and switch on the body’s natural healing response. Postures are supported by equipment, so we are able to deeply relax in positions where physical and emotional tension can be released, and physical and emotional healing through softening and conscious awareness can occur.

The squeeze and release effect from the poses held also stimulates and rejuvenates your internal organs and glands improving their overall function. Benefits of Restorative Yoga include improved sleep and emotional balance, reduced stress and anxiety, relief from headaches and held-tension, improved regulation of the hormonal & digestive system and blood pressure. It is therefore beneficial for everyone, but may be of particular interest to anyone suffering from stress, anxiety, fertility or menopausal problems or chronic pain. Due to its passive and supportive nature, it is also a great option for anyone who seeks the mental and physical benefits of yoga, but who are unable to attend a regular yoga class due to an injury or limited movement or for those of you that can’t physically do the poses offered. With Restorative Yoga, yoga is truly accessible to everyone!

Rest and restore yoga

I am delighted to welcome you to my first in-person class in the Forest of Dean.

This class will help you start your weekend feeling quietly alert and relaxed, with a greater sense of ease in body and mind.

We will explore a variety of styles of practice, including gentle hatha yoga to prepare the body for the softer, slower more restorative styles of practice, leading us towards a deeply restful yoga nidra practice. I will include accessible breath practices and when useful, a little yoga philosophy to help elevate our perspective and guide us through the daily stresses of everyday life.

Everything is designed to reset the nervous system out of fight, flight or freeze and into rest and digest. The focus is on feeling and sensing rather than perfection and as such this class is suitable for all abilities. My intention is for everyone to feel welcome, so please do come along and join me.

Venue: Mackenzie Hall, Mill Hill, Brockweir, Chepstow, NP16 7NW

Useful information: Please bring a mat with you if possible. Also have some warm layers for the yoga nidra at the end. Otherwise wear clothes you feel comfortable in, ie leggings, jogging bottoms and comfortable tops. There is free parking on site.

Payment options

Full price- £12.50

Concessionary price - £10.50 - use coupon code ‘CONC’ when booking

If this is your first ever class with me, enjoy a 50% discount - use the coupon code ‘WELCOME’ when booking.

Please make sure you book your spot by midnight the night before - this allows me to bring enough props for each person.
