Restorative Afternoon: Restorative Yoga for the chakras

Sunday 24TH June, 2.15pm - 5.15pm, Bristol City Yoga

“The chakra system describes the energetic structure through which we organise our life force. By understanding this internal arrangement, we can understand our defences and needs, and learn how to restore balance.”
— Anodea Judith, author of Eastern Body, Western Mind

The word chakra translates often as wheel or vortex, weaving energy in and through the body. Chakras are the portals which connect our inner world with the outer world, and the way we experience the world physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually can be affected by how well our chakras are functioning. Having a healthy and balanced chakra system is essential for anyone undergoing the journey of healing and growth.

In this workshop, we look at chakras in the context of the mind-body connection, and explore why the emotions, thoughts and feelings that we experience frequently could result in an imbalance in our physical being. In particular we will look at the patterns which can result in fatigue, low mood and anxiety.

Restorative yoga and yoga nidra help us to calm down and become more reflective and less reactive. This allows us to take our journey of self-understanding to a deeper level, and increase our conscious awareness without overly criticising or judging ourselves.

We will create a stable foundation within the body by stretching out the legs and back, as well as opening the heart space. Our focus will then be to create balance and freedom for the pelvis, so we are able to more forward in our lives with greater ease. Colour imagery, visualisations and breath work will complement the restful practices of restorative yoga and yoga nidra. It is only through truly seeing ourselves that we are able to making lasting change, and with clarity of vision and complete acceptance of who we are – then we are finally able to change.

Price - £36

Mel is genuinely passionate about the benefits of Yoga Nidra and generous in sharing it with others. Just allowing myself that head space made everything seem much clearer. Give it a go and see what it can do for you!
