Stress is a part of life, and in appropriate amounts, can even be good us. However if we are subjected to stress over a sustained period of time, it can begin to affect our mental and physical health. This is known as ‘fight or flight’ mode, and can include signs such as the inability to switch off (i.e. checking emails before bed), reliance of sugar/caffeine/alcohol as a way to “keep going”, constant worrying, physical aches and pains, and many more.


Due to our over-stimulated society, never ending to-do lists, and constant striving to do more, many of us are living in a state of constant ‘fight or flight’, leaving us feeling depleted, exhausted and unable to experience pleasure.
In this workshop we will aim to bring balance back to our minds and bodies. Through supporting the body in a way that promotes healing and rejuvenation, we explore how to rediscover and free our natural breath. By holding restorative yoga postures for a sustained period of time (between 5 – 20 minutes), we can bring a state of relaxation to the nervous system and release tension in the body including some of the more commonly areas of tension, the diaphragm, pelvic floor, jaw and shoulders.
