Join Mel for a nurturing weekend retreat in the rugged Dartmoor landscape wilds of Dartmoor National Park. Take a break from your busy day to day, replenishing your energies, nourishing yourself and taking time to relax.
Practice in Balabrook's light and airy yoga studio, with underfloor heating for cooler mornings, and doors opening up to the picturesque gardens and brook for warmer summer afternoons.
Mel will teach a mixture of Hatha, Restorative and Yin yoga, plus meditation and Yoga Nidra, with more rejuvenating morning sessions and relaxation in the evenings. Her sessions are down to earth and are accessible for all levels of experience, adapting all the practices to suit the individual.
Mel is a Yoga Alliance associate teacher level II, teaching since 2014 with over 1000 hours of teaching and training experience behind her. Yoga has given Mel a new way to reconnect with her body, to heal old traumas, and find a place of stability on this earth, she believes that yoga offers everyone the chance to fully engage with life. Mel loves reading, writing and talking about yoga to anyone who will listen.
Balabrook is a dedicated yoga and Buddhist retreat centre in Dartmoor National Park, surrounded by 35 acres of moorland, gardens, open fields, waterfalls, rivers and woodland.
Moorland walks are easily accessible from the venue, you can choose from stronger walks up onto Dartmoor or more gentle walks through nearby woodlands.
There is a library with books on yoga, Buddhism and other spiritual practices, poetry, nature and the local area.
Enjoy the delicious food with a garden view in the spacious dining area.
The food on this retreat will be lovingly prepared by Nemia (Come to Good Food).
There are a range of room types to suit your requirements. There are a mix of twin, single and triple rooms with both ensuite and shared bathrooms. The venue is simple and functional, set against a beautiful moorland backdrop.
